The arrival at Milan of Ronaldinho marks the end of the club’s attempt to sign Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor and Chelsea’s Andrii Shevchenko, chief executive Adriano Galliani has confirmed.
Earlier in the summer Adebayor was identified as Milan’s number one transfer target, while ex-Milan striker Shevchenko has been linked with a return to his former club for the past 12 months. However, the signing of Ronaldinho from Barcelona has brought Milan’s spending to a close.
“The market for Milan is closed with Ronaldinho. As far as arrivals are concerned, we are finished, absolutely,” Galliani told a news conference.
Galliani said some reserve players like defender Dario Simic and striker Alberto Paloschi could be allowed to leave as coach Carlo Ancelotti prunes his squad for the forthcoming campaign.
