Arsenal are to offer centre-back Philippe Senderos a new contract to keep him at the club until 2010.
The 20-year-old Swiss international was outstanding after coming into Arsenal’s starting line-up amd he even kept England defender Sol Campbell out of the team in the closing weeks of the season.
Manager Arsene Wenger told the Evening Standard: “Philippe has been magnificent. We will talk about a new contract when we report back in July.
“Hopefully, it will be sorted out before the start of the season.”
Senderos, who cost Arsenal £500,000 from Servette in July 2003, has three years left on his present deal.
