Sepp Blatter us undergoing evlauation for stress and has been ordered by doctors to take five days off work.

The 79-year-old, currently suspended from his role as Fifa president, consulted a doctor after feeling unwell, and although no underlying problem was discovered he has been ordered to rest.

The Fifa president was suspended by the ethics committee investigating a payment he authorised to Uefa president Michel Platini. The men deny any wrongdoing and both have appealed against theie suspensions.

The Swiss has remained busy during his supension and last month gave a wide ranging interview to Russian news agency TASS, during which he protested his innocence and blamed his recent travails on former ally Platini.

His personal adviser Klaus Stohlker said: “He has been told to rest for the next five days. It is nothing dramatic, he has not been to hospital. I’ve spoken to him today and he says he will be back in his private office on Thursday.”

Stohlker said that Blatter had been forced to cancel an interview with Swiss television that was planned for next week.

Blatter will officially step down from the presidency next February when a new president will be elected.

He was re-elected earlier this year, but stood down just two days later after the FBI and Swiss authorities arrested several FIFA officials in Zurich.
