Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has suggested that Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni could be the man to help the club overcome its current difficulties.
David Pleat is acting manager at White Hart Lane but the club are looking for a permanent successor to Glenn Hoddle who was sacked last September and Levy believes that Trapattoni could be their man.
“Giovanni Trapattoni is oneÊofÊthe greatest managers working today,” Levy told the Daily Mirror.
“We are interested in hearing his point of view.
“Tottenham have to get back to being a key team in English football and the exchange of views with a manager of such great experience and pedigree as Trapattoni is precious.
“At the base of everything is the squad. We have invested substantially in the development of Tottenham and we don’t intend to stop.
“The long-term goal of the project is to get Tottenham into Europe and we will pursue this until it happens.”
