Jaap Stam’s agent has claimed that Lazio may go bankrupt when the defender is awarded his signing on fee.

Stam was forced to take legal action against the club after they failed to pay him his signing-on fee following his transfer from Manchester United in 2001.

Stam’s agent, Henk Van Ginkel, said: “We, Van Dalen and I, started legal actionagainst Lazio. We have won that.

“Now we have to wait for registration for that and then we will block all Lazio accounts. Andif we have to do it, we will let them go bankrupt,’ he added.

Van Ginkel’s claims come amid reports that Lazio have not been paying many of their players wages for some time because of their financial difficulties.
