Two of Greek football’s biggest teams have been threatened with relegation overtransfer debts.
AEK Athens and PAOK Salonika have been given 30 days to pay up or be docked six league points and if they failto pay after that period, they will be relegated.
“In the instance that AEK (and PAOK) do not make the payment, after the docking of points, they will be relegated,” the Greek FA (EPO) said in a statement on Thursday.
PAOK are currentlythird in the table, while AEK lie fourth.
According to FIFA, AEK hmust pay Polish striker Gregorz Mielcarszki £215,000, while PAOK Salonika owe £334,000 to Yugoslav club Zeleznik for the transfer of midfielder Sladjan Spasic.
Both teams havebeen fined 15,000 Swiss francs.
Earlier this week, state auditors investigating finances at the club demanded £12 millionin back taxes.
