Internazionale winger Andy van der Meyde has confirmed he is on ther verge of joining Monaco.

The Dutch international has been offered a four-year contract, although initially he was only lookoing to sign a three-year deal.

“On Monday, I met Monaco’s vice-chairman Mr Brianti with my agent and I had a very good feeling,” he told France Football.

“I have not signed yet because we still have some details to settle.

“Monaco offered me a four-year contract and I only want three.

“I have already talked three times with Didier Deschamps.

“It is always flattering when a coach really wants you.

“The fact I’ve already had talks with Deschamps is very important to me. Monaco are obviously my priority for next season.

“I think Monaco have already found an agreement with Internazionale for my transfer,” he revealed.

“Indeed, I have had contacts with Benfica, Roma and Valencia, but Monaco remain my priority.

“I should sign around July 10.”
