Holland striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been given a two-match ban for insulting behaviour towards referee Anders Frisk.
The Manchester United striker was unhappy at Frisk’s performance during Holland’s semi-final defeat to Portugal on Wednesday.
Van Nistelrooy accused Frisk of ruling “everything in favour of Portugal” and of being a “home whistler”.
The Dutchman has until Monday to appeal against the ban, but unless the suspensionis overtuirned, he will miss Holland’s opening two World Cup qualifiers.
