Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira has reiterated his desire to stay at the club despite speculation in Italy that heis bound for Juventus.
Vieira dismissed the reports in the Italian press that he was threatening to move to Juventus as he was dissatisfied with the wages being offered to him by Arsenal.
‘Anyone who knows me knows that I am really happy here. I am proud to be the captain of this club and it’s really frustrating when people make up stories about me,’ he insisted.
‘I’ve said it many times already this season that I want to stay at Arsenal for many years to come, and that has not changed.’
Not for the first time, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger dismissed talkj of Vieira quitting Highbury.
Wenger added: ‘Nothing really has changed. I am convinced that Patrick will stay and I’m not at all disturbed by these reports.’
