Inter Alberto Zaccheroni has insisted that Adriano and Christian Vieri can play alongside each other in attack.

It had been suggested that the unsettled Vieri would see Adriano’s arrival as his cue to leave the San Siro, but Zaccheroni was quick to dispel such rumours.

“They can play together because it will give the side a thousand options and more solutions,” he said.

“It will also be possible to play with a ‘trequartista’ just behind them or serve them with crosses from the flanks.

“It is now up to me to find the right balance in the side because it is vital to not split the team in two.”

The nerazzuri boss went onto suggest that Adriano could fit in any side in the world and highlighted how much he thinks of his new front man.

“I’m convinced that he has some extraordinary qualities,” he added.
