Inter striker Christian Vieri will be out for at least three weeks after tests confirmed he had suffered knee ligament damage.
A statement on the club’s website stated: “The player has a first- to second-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligaments in his right knee. Vieri will rest for three weeks, after which he will begin a specific rehabilitation programme.”
Vieri suffered the injury during Tuesday nights Champions League game with Valencia.
The injury comes as a massive blow to Inter’s faint hopes for the Scudetto and the Champions League. Vieri will certainly miss the Champion’s League semi final first leg with rivals Milan on May 7th and will be highly doubtful for the return match a week later.
