Teenagers Lukas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger have been called up to the Germany squad for Euro 2004.
Podolski, 18, scored 10 goals in 19 games for relegated Cologne, while Schweinsteiger, 19, a product of Bayern Munich’s youth programme, earns his place at the expense of the injured midfielder Paul Freier.
