Italy coach Marcello Lippi has given Andrea Pirlo his backing over a mooted transfer to Chelsea.
The 30-year-old has been linked with a £20million move to Stamford Bridge to link-up with former Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Although Lippi has gone on record stating he would prefer his star players to stay in Serie A, he insists he would have no problem if his World Cup winning midfielder moved to England.
“It wouldn’t be a problem, regardless of where he plays,” Lippi said.
“A flight from London to Rome is like a flight from Milan to Rome.”
