Marseille coach Jose Anigo looks set to remain as coach, despite submitting his resignation last week.

Anigo offered to quit after a defeat to Paris Saint Germain, but victory over Strasbourg has convinced the coach that the players are with him.

“I stay,” said Anigo. “The players have shown a lot of courage during the last week.

“They have assured me of their support and, by staying, I will return the favour.

“On Tuesday I will meet the director of sport Pape Diouf to talk about the past fortnight.

“When we spoke at the weekend he said I should try not to shoulder all the blame because that was what he was here for.”
