Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he is not interested in signing Jermaine Jenas.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who was sent off during Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, has been linked with a move awa y from St James Park, with Wenger reported to be a possible suitor.

“He is a good player, but at the moment I’m not interested. I just wanted to watch him play,” said Wenger.

Spurs have also been linked with the player possibly in part exchange for striker Fredi Kanoute.

Jenas will now miss three games through suspension and will not return until after the transfer window is closed on 31 August.
