Slavia Prague goalkeeper Radek Cerny is to join English Premiership side Tottenham on loan for at least 18 months, the Czech club have confirmed.

“We had an unwritten agreement with Radek that if we got an attractive offer from abroad then we would free him up,” Slavia general director Vladimir Leska said.

“He is at the best football age, it is a big chance for him

“We still have to sort out the contract but I’m glad that it’s worked out like this. The English league is the best football league in the world and I would like to spend more than 18 months there.

British investment company ENIC has a share in both Slavia and Tottenham.
