Feyenoord’s Royston Drenthe has admitted is flattered to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.

“Who would not want to play for Madrid?” he stated. “Like I always say when I am asked; Madrid are a great, great, great team.

“That is all I can say at the moment. They are the most important club in the world and have one of the best squads. It is an honour for me that the top clubs in Spain are talking so much about me.

“Of course I am happy when such important clubs are after me. I am listening to what everyone is saying about me because it is my future.

“But I am only 20 and nobody knows what could happen. I have a long career ahead of me and we will have to see what happens.”

Real have reportedly made a fresh bid of €7million plus left-back Krzysztof Krol in an attempt to head off the competition for Drenthe from Barcelona and Chelsea.
