Big spending Manchester City only finished 10th last season but are being well supported to finish in the top 4 after flashing the cash this summer.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta claims Samuel Eto’o is ignoring his phone calls as he tries to sort out the striker’s future.

The Cameroon international’s future is unclear as he enters the final year of his contract with the European champions.

Laporta claims the club have offered Eto’o a two-year extension and recently revealed that Manchester City had lodged a “stratospheric” bid to take the forward to England.

“I’ve called him a couple of times, but he hasn’t picked up the phone. I don’t know if he has changed his number or what,” Laporta was quoted as saying on a TVE programme on Wednesday night.

“The situation has saddened me because we’ve always had a clear and direct relationship. We offered him two years and we’re waiting for his answer. I would like to be able to talk to him calmly.”
