The Italian football league’s disciplinary panel said that Inter winger Luis Figo was to face a disciplinary hearing to explain his remarks after the club’s Serie A defeat to Juventus last month.

Figo claimed Juventus director Luciano Moggi was in the dressing room of referee Gianluca Paparesta before the game, which Juventus won 2-1.

Juventus lodged a complaint with the Italian football league and Figo could now face a suspension.

After the match, Figo said: “What was Luciano Moggi doing in the referee’s room?

“I’ve been all over the world, but I’ve never known anyone quite like Moggi. He acts as if he is the grandmaster of football.”
