Diego Forlan has admitted that he would be happy to be given another the opportunity to play in England.

The Atletico Madrid frontman has blossomed into one of Europe’s most feared strikers since leaving Manchester United to join Villarreal in 2004.

Forlan struggled to settle at Old Trafford, but his time there has not dampened his respect for the Premier League.

He told Uefa’s official website: “England, and the Premier League, gave me many things and I thank them for that.

“If I have a chance to return, I would like to go.”

Despite managing just 17 goals in his 95 appearances for United, Forlan insists he would be better prepared second time around.

He continued: “I feel I have nothing to prove there.

“The only difference is that I am more experienced today.”
