Claude Makelele’s agent has played down reports claiming the midfielder could leave the club.
There has been speculation in recent weeks that Makelele is considering his future at Stamford Bridge because Chelsea are only willing to offer Makelele, who has over a year to run on his current deal, a 12-month extension to his contract.
His English-based agent Jaime Ladjemi has denied that Makelele is considering his future and revealed negotiations over a new deal will take place at the end of the season.
“Claude has not decided anything,” Ladjemi told skysports.com.
“We have not negotiated as yet, but at the end of the season we will talk with Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon.
“Claude has one year to run on his current deal and he would prefer another two years
“Claude is happy at Chelsea and his preference is to stay at Chelsea.
“Claude is not concerned about his future as he is only concentrating on all the big games Chelsea have coming up.”
