Internazionale chief Massimo Moratti has given coach Roberto Mancini a vote of confidence.

Mancini has come under intense pressure in recent weeks due to Inter’s stutttering start to the Serie A season.

Although Inter remain unbeaten this season, they have only won two matches out of their opening twelve fixtures and trail Juve by 15 points in the race for the Scudetto.

“Mancini’s position is not under review,” said Moratti.

Moratti believes that Sunday’s 3-3 draw at Cagliari highlighted problems at the back for Inter.

“The sensation I had until Cagliari’s 3-1 advantage wasn’t good,” he added. “Then it seems to me the reaction has been really good.

“The team played positively in attack but they have been quite dangerous on defence.

“On three Cagliari attacks, against 21 one of ours, they scored three times.

“Anyway I think there is still space for hope, provided that we can be more attentive in defence.”
