Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini was delighted with his side’s remarkable comeback against Sampdoria.

Sampdoria had been leading 2-0 with just two minutes remaining the clock, but goals from Obafemi Martins, Christian Vieri and Alvaro Recoba salvaged an amazing victory in stoppage time.

“I think we played a really good match,” said Mancini.

“In the first half, we made a few chances, but to think that we were 2-0 down with just a few minutes to go – we played really well.

“Inter have great character. We created so much that it was impossible to consider a defeat.”

Samp boss Walter Novellino disapppointed but philosophical about the turnaround.

“Football is like this and you have to accept this,” said Novellino.

“We deserved to win and we should have stayed focused.

“Unfortunately, this is the nature of football.

“We had the match in our hands a few minutes before the end.”
