According to reports in Spain West Ham’s Argentinian duo Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez have been offered to Atletico Madrid.

Madrid radio station Onda made the claim about the pair, whose future is in doubt following the failure of Kia Joorabchian – the man who negotiated their moves to England – to buy the Premiership club.

Joorabchian had been hoping to buy West Ham, but Icelander Eggert Magnusson struck a deal with the east London outfit.

West Ham manager Alan Pardew admits he wants to talk with Joorabchian about their futures.

“We have put a lot of work into trying to ease the settling in process for Tevez and Mascherano,” Pardew said.

“Hopefully we will get time – maybe for the rest of the season – to see that through.

“At some point I will meet Kia and see how our wishes fit in with his plans for the players.

“Maybe [the takeover] will be a situation that works for them. I hope they start to grow here quicker than they have done in the initial period, and I think that can happen.

“But for now the players are here to play football and they will be judged on their performances in training and in games.”
