Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he will not be bringing Ronaldinho to the club.

The Barcelona playmaker has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou, with Milan said to be the player’s preferred destination, but Ancelotti says the club have no need for the Brazilian.

“No, Ronaldinho will not be joining us,” he told Rai.

“The club has invested heavily in this young boy (Pato) of great potential.

“We’re also hoping Ronaldo will get fully fit again. Right now physically he’s not even at 50 per cent, but such is his immense talent that he manages to overcome that handicap.”

Milan can also call upon Italian internationals Filippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardinho.

“It’s the kind of squad that all big teams have,” he said.

“For the whole month of January we’ll play practically every three days. Hence, it’s important to rotate the players.

“It’s not important how many games we play, simply the quality. We can’t always expect Ronaldo to play.

“Gilardinho has the right age, he’s fresh and he’ll be important in the coming games.”

One player who may be joining Milan from Barcelona in the summer is Gianluca Zambrotta.

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed that the club are interested in Zambrotta and that he expects the player to join.

“I am confident that Zambrotta will arrive,” he said.

“He wants to come to Milan and we won’t have any difficulties in reaching an agreement with Barcelona.”
