Carlos Queiroz is confident Real Madrid midfielder David Beckhamwill stay in Spain.

Speculation has surrounded the England captain’s future following reports that Chelsea were prepared to launch a world record bid for his services.

Despite reports claiming Beckham – whose wife and children still live in England – is lonely in Spain, Queiroz insists he player is happy to stay with Madrid.

“David is in control of his life, he knows what he wants, he is happy and he shows that on the pitch,” said the Liga champions’ coach.

“He is progressing every single month.

“My concern is he is happy and working hard and he is doing that.

“Try to show me somebody who doesn’t have any problems in life,” he told The Sun.

“I would love to meet them. “They must be the luckiest person in the world!

“But David is coping with everything so well after moving here and I can see he is happy with his family.

“I cannot see David leaving in the short term. I just cannot see it.”
