Ronaldinho has insisted that he has no intention of leaving Barcelona.

The Brazilian playmaker has been strongly linked with both Chelsea and Milan in recent months, but Ronaldinho has once again stressed how happy he is with life in Barceona.

When asked whether he thought about leaving, he replied: “Never.

“People have always been on my side, and that is what motivates me. I go to training every day and always enjoy myself, that is my motivation.”

Ronaldinho, whose form this season has been disappointing, said he had been bollstered by the support of his team-mates.

“We are all friends and treat each other well, we are like a family and that’s good,” he told Sport.

“When there is someone being criticised, we will always defend them.”

Despite his indifferent form, Ronaldinho claims his performances have not been as bad as some of his critics have suggested.

“There is criticism and there is criticism. There is criticism by people who have never played football and do not know what is happening, whilst there is also criticism from those who have played the game and know how difficult it is and who knows everything that is happening,” he continued.

“I am at a very good level and I am aware that I can improve and I want to be where I think I can be.

“The important thing for me is to be innovative and look for ways to keep surprising.

“You need to surprise people, with a dribble, a new play, a pass. It takes creativity to create and I will always try.

“I will never lose my characteristics, because that is what I know how to do and I will always mix it and innovate as usual.”

Meanwhile, Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard is convinced that Ronaldinho will make a big impact on the rest of their season.

“He is improving little by little and we could see that he is a fundamental player for us by the way that he brings such happiness to the team,” said Rijkaard.

“He can still give so much to this club. He is taking players on again and has shown that he can make the difference.”
