France coach Jacques Santini has aditted he is interested in taking over as manager at English Premiership side Tottenham.

Santini guided France to EURO 2004 with a 100 percent record but the French Football Federation has refused to open talks on a new contract even though his present deal expries in June.

“If Tottenham contact me and they want to talk then I will listen,” Santini told the London Evening Standard.

“I have always thought that one day I might manage abroad and the Tottenham job would interest me if they wanted me to go there.”

Tottenham are looking for an experienced coach to succeed caretaker manager David Pleat and the London outfit may regard the former Lyon coach as an ideal candidate.
