Bernd Schuster, who has been tipped as a possible coach of Real Madrid, believes Fabio Capello will not be at the club next season.

Capello has endured a disappointing second spell at the Bernabeu and over the weekend, Real president Ramon Calderon hinted that the Italian would not be in charge next term.

Getafe boss Schuster, who is a one of a number of candidates linked with the Real post, feels the former Juventus chief’s style could be responsible for his downfall.

“It is practically certain that he is not going to be the trainer of Real Madrid next season,” Schuster told German television station DSF.

“Capello only wants to win – it does not matter how – and with that philosophy he will not prevail in Real Madrid.”

Calderon also confirmed that Schuster is on his list of potential replacements for Capello, although the former Real midfielder insists no talks have taken place.

Schuster added: “I have not had any direct contact with the president of Madrid.

“I only know that I am on the list of candidates to succeed Fabio Capello.”
