Former Scotland international Kenny Dalglish, believes Scotland and Ireland should sueUEFA following the failure of their bid to host Euro 2008.

Scotland/Ireland’s bid to host the finals was considered a strong contender in the run-up to the UEFA ballot, however, it has susequently emerged that the bid had not even made it on to the final shortlist of four.

Now Dalglish, who was involved in promoting the bid, believes UEFA should refund the £1 million+ costs incurred, for misleading the Celts about their prospects.

The former Liverpool boss told The Scottish Daily Mail: ‘If I were responsible for the Scotland and Ireland bid I would sue UEFA for misrepresentation and misleading us into thinking that we had met all the criteria.

‘UEFA is left with a credibility rating of zero – and below. It is crystal clear that Switzerland have drawn up the rules here. It’s also clear they have done so at the last minute.’
