South African midfielder Elrio van Heerden has left Blackburn and joined Turkish side Sivasspor.
The 26-year-old joined Rovers as a free agent in June 2009, but he has made just two substitute appearances for the club, and has expressed a desire to move on.
Van Heerden has therefore taken the opportunity to head to Turkey, with Sivasspor coach Muhsin Ertugral revealing that his deal could be extended past the end of the season.
“Elrio is going to be with us until the end of the season, but we have an option to extend our contract next season,” Ertugral told KickOff.com.
