Goalkeeper Tuillaume Warmuz, who has been out of contract sicne leaving Lens in December, has joined Arsenal on loan until the end of the season.

Arsenal have been desperate to secure experienced cover for 39-year-old David Seaman, as they attempt to maintain their challenge on three separate fronts.

“We are very pleased to have signed Guillaume,’ managerArsene Wenger told the club’s official website.

‘He is a very experienced player and has proved during his time with Lens that he is a very capable goalkeeper.”

“Since the injury to Rami Shaaban, it was very important that we brought in another goalkeeper as cover,” Wenger added.

Warmuz told the site: “I am delighted to be joining Arsenal. They are a team full of world class players and I am looking forward to playing for one of the best clubs in Europe.”

Warmuz had been at Lens since 1992but was released in December.
