The on-going transfer saga with Granit Xhaka rumbles on with Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl fearing that transfer rumours will cause disruption in the summer.

Xhaka has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal – with reports saying that the north London club have opened negotiations and have launched a £24m bid.

Eberl said: “I fear it could get very tumultuous regarding rumours in summer.

“There is currently no offer from England. I’ll keep you up to date when the first faxes roll in.”

Defender and former Arsenal reserve captain Havard Nordtveit has also been linked with a move away from Gladbach and Eberl believes the club has become an attraction for clubs around Europe.

“Our club has become sexy. We’ve undergone a fantastic development,” he said.

“It’s obviously our dream to play in the Champions League again, but dreams are hard to achieve.”

Gladbach manager Andre Schubert has made it clear that Arsenal will need to offer more than €30 million to secure the player’s signature this summer.

“They need not even send the fax with a 30 million euro offer for Granit Xhaka,” said Schubert.
