Portuguese legend Luis Figo has retired after playing his final game in Inter’s 4-3 win over Atalanta on Sunday.
The 2001 World Player of the Year played for Sporting Lisbon, Barcelona and Real Madrid before spending his last years with Inter.
The 36-year-old, who won four Serie A titles at Giuseppe Meazza, also won 127 caps for Portugal scoring 32 times.
Figo, however, has not ruled out a coaching role with Inter and has already held talks with club president Massimo Moratti over a possible position at the club.
Figo told Sky Italia: “My relationship with the president is really good. He knew this was my will [to retire].
“We spoke but he didn’t force me to change my mind. I don’t need an agreement with Inter for my future.
“I’m happy to be useful to the club, now I don’t know what I will do. The president will tell me.
“After these four years I can’t forget what I did here,” he added.
