Spurs will take a 4-1 lead into their second-leg with Burnley, while Man Utd will need to overturn a 1-0 deficit at Old Trafford against Derby. Second-leg ties 20th & 21st Jan.

David Beckham will not stay with Milan when his loan spell ends in March, according to the midfielder’s spokesman.

Beckham recently linked up with Milan on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy in a bid to maintain his fitness and stake his claims for an England place, but is due to return to Los Angeles for the start of the Major League Soccer season.

Former Galaxy general manager Alexi Lalas stated earlier today that he thought Beckham might be tempted to remain with the Italian side.

However, Beckham’s spokesman Simon Oliveira has insisted the 33-year-old will finish his loan spell with Milan in March as originally intended.

Oliveira said: “Whilst we respect Alexi’s right to an opinion, he has not been party to any contractual discussions on the loan agreement to Milan.

“As David has said recently, he will be back in the US for March 9 and with LA Galaxy for the start of the MLS season.”
