Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp does not expect injured goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini to play again this season.

The keeper fractured his wrists and injured his pelvis earlier this month in a motorbike accident.

It had been suggested that the Italian’s career might be over, however, Redknapp is convinced the keeper will return to full fitness.

“He faces a long, hard road back from this but I think he is going to play again and he is convinced of it,” Redknapp told The Sun.

“He will be on crutches for about 12 weeks. I can’t imagine he’ll play again this season and most of his early rehab work will have to be done at home.

“Carlo was in good spirits for someone who has been through a trauma like this. But he is a strong character and a fantastic professional.

“We have a few keepers on our books. But I am not sure what we will do at present. There has been speculation linking us with several keepers but they are pretty much no-goers.”
