Spurs defender Ledley King has been called into the England squad following the withdrawal of Sol Campbell.
“He’s strong and skilful and can play in many positions. It will be good to have him with us,” coach Sven-Goran Eriksson told the FA’s website.
“Ledley is another good young player that we have. I have seen him play several times this season.”
King made his England debut as a second-half sub against Italy in March 2002.
Campbell played in Arsenal’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Chelsea on Sunday despite suffering from a groin injury.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed Campbell would miss the trip.
“Sol is definitely out of the England game,” he said.
“I’ve got a lot of sympathy for Sven-Goran Eriksson but Sol has chronic inflammation of his groin and it’s important to get him in good shape.
“I didn’t want to play him against Chelsea.
“But he was good because he loves to win and the FA Cup is special, particularly for English players.”
