Fulham striker Steve Marlet has hinted that he may follow coach Jean Tigana in leaving Fulham at the end of the season.

The club’s chairman Mohamed Al Fayed confirmed he would not be renewing Tigana’s contract at the end of the season, a decision which could prompt an exodus of players.

Marlet, who cost the club £11.5 million when he joined from Lyon, could be the first to follow Tigana.

“My future? I signed a five-year contract and we will see what will happen at the end of the season,” said Marlet.

“If there is a new coach, we have to see if he still wants me. But I am under contract with Fulham, not Tigana.”

“I am a little disappointed with my performances,” added Marlet.

“I was very fit at the start of the season, but then key players were injured.

“Then, there were other problems, but people must understand you need time to build a great club. But I could probably bring much more.”
