Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has denied reports that the club are lining up Chievo’s Luigi Del Neri as a replacement for present incumbent Carlo Ancelotti.

“Nobody at the club has ever contacted Del Neri,” Galliani stated on Milan’s official website, www.acmilan.com.

“Our coach is and will be Carlo Ancelotti,’ Galliani added. ‘His contract has just been extended until June 2005.”

Reports appeared saying Del Neri was being lined up by Milan after arecent poor run of form saw them drop out of the race for the scudetto.

Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Reggina left Milan eight pointsbehind league leaders Juventus, heaping pressure on Ancelotti.
