Jose Mourinho says he intends to take legal action after denying he conducted an interview in which he criticised England coach Fabio Capello.

The Real Madrid coach allegedly blamed Capello for England’s disappointing World Cup showing, and was quoted in an English newspaper on Wednesday as claiming the Italian had a “one-track relationship with players” and that the England players are “frightened” of their national boss.

However, the Portuguese has insisted the interview was “absolutely false” and is now prepared to take legal action against the newspaper.

International agency Gestifute, who represent Mourinho, issued a statement which read: “Jose Mourinho hasn’t produced any statement to this newspaper, and denies categorically every word published.

“We hereby inform that Jose Mourinho will use all legal means against the newspaper and its author.”
