New Chelsea signing Alexandre Pato is looking forward to settling down to life at Stamford Bridge and says the move is a “dream come true.”

Speaking for the first time to the clubs website, Pato is keen to help the team and is hoping to make a good impression.

He was also thankful for the support that he has recieved from his team mates and coach Guus Hiddink:

“These first few days have been very important,” Pato said.

“Since I arrived I have been made to feel very welcome. All the players have helped me settle a lot and that is a big thing. They will help me express myself with freedom on the pitch and to be incorporated into the team,

“The coach met me here at Cobham and introduced me to all the staff from all the different departments. He has given me the support to have a great rest of season at Chelsea.”

Matt Miazga

Matt Miazga joined the champions on a four-and-a-half year deal

Pato, has joined the club for the remainder of the season on a loan deal, whilst USA international Matt Miazgo also signed in the transfer window.

Pato was earmarked as Brazil’s new golden boy after he had spent five successful years at Milan between 2007 and 2012 scoring 51 goals; however injuries have hampered his enormous potential.

He returned to Brazil signing for Corinthians and more recently with Sao Paulo, and Pato revealed candidly that the return to his homeland was educational – for his body, mind and spirit.

“I went to Brazil to learn more about my body and my physique: what to do before training, during training, after training, even after the match,” explains Pato of his decision to return to Brazil.

“I learned a lot about myself and how to look after myself, and now Chelsea have opened the doors to me for this opportunity, I am very happy to be back in Europe.”

Pato may be called upon for tonight’s clash with Watford, and he said that he will be ready for the challenges of the Premier League and that his previous injuries are behind him:

“I know I only have a few months until the end of the season but what I can promise is that I am prepared to do my best, and I am prepared to play to the best of my ability to help during the few months left of the campaign.”
